Invitation to participate in Forest Sport 2014
Everybody is very welcome to take part in an international foresters‘ open cup competition Forest Sport 2014! It is expected that this year‘s event will attract more than 20 participant teams.
When: 2014.08.16 (Saturday)
Where: forester‘s Antanas Garbačauskas farm close to Vėžaičiai village (at the end of Mokyklos street). Address: Nausodis, Vėžaičiai, Klaipėda reg. GPS Coordinates: 55°43,590'N, 21°28,709'E.
The Program:
08.15 (Friday) – arrival of the „toughest“ contestants and volunteers, willing to to help in finalizing the preparatory works
08.16 (Saturday) – arrival of all of the „rest“ contestants (around 11:00-12:00).
- 14:00 – start of thecompetition Forest Sport 2014(team registration starts at 12:00 !!!
A short introduction to competition rules and events is planned at 13:00)
Briefly, the competition Forest Sport 2014 will involve several events: at the beginning – an orienteering (run) in a forest with various in-between tasks / querries in the fields of forestry, dendrology, hunting, etc. Later (at the farm) there will be an intriguing and scintillating relay with a course of various obstacles and fanciful tasks, called „A Sector of Forest Sport Obstacles“.
In parallel with the competition Forest Sport 2014, a programme will also be organized for our youngest guests so the parents could leisurely take part in the main competition „for the adults“. The programme for children will include various games and contests with a mass of prizes and fun.
- 19:00-19:30 – finish of the last event of the competition (the exact time is not known :)
- 20:00 - prizegiving and congratulations to all participants!
After all contests and championships, a long night of acquaintances and communication will follow:
- an evening meal will be prepared collectively. For this occasion, a large ram is reserved, accompanied with national beverages (: ..
- in a cultural programme:
Conclusion of the wood carvers’ plennaire “Forest for All”, and presentation of the accomplished carvings.
- 22:00-24:00 Thematic music night. Jazz-Blues-Rock-Relaxxx...
- 24:00 Fireworks and a Pioneers‘ bonfire.
- 24:30-6:00 Movie night: oeuvre of young Lithuanian movie makers. Works by Emilis Vėlyvis and Co.
A real Indian sauna will be stoked for all willing to warm up. For thirsty, a special Forest bar (free of charge!!) will operate all night long.
08.17 (Sunday) – wake up (sharply at 8:00!!), breakfast, exercises, sour cabbage soup and relaxation…
Additional information:
Accommodation: a) in tents, b) on and in the hay, or c) simply under the starry August sky..
Meal: a) some leftovers from home, b) “MAXIMA”, or c) waiting for the ram to stew
Money: simply not needed…
The philosophy and Olympic principle of the FOREST SPORT competition – active participation is the most important! To wiggle, to get thoroughly healthy, to stay optimistic and with a light heart in all circumstances, to solve the problems in a simple and ingenious way, and to fight to the finish…
